Sewer & Septic Systems

Joseph Engineering installs and repairs sewer lines and septic systems.

Sewer

In most urban areas, the local public utility will provide a public sewer system, under the roads. Each individual property owner is required to hook into the public system so they can get rid of their wastewater. What most people don’t know is that this lateral is the responsibility of the property owner to install, maintain and repair.

Joseph Engineering provides what is commonly called a sewer lateral and “tap” into the public system. We do this by cutting a hole into the public sewer line then running a pipeline to the building on the property.

Septic Systems

Septic systems are underground wastewater treatment plants just outside your home or business. They use a combination of technology and nature to treat wastewater from plumbing produced by bathrooms, kitchen drains, laundry or agricultural watering. A typical septic system consists of a septic tank and a drainfield or soil absorption field. The septic tank takes in the wastewater and separates floatable matter and solids. Soil-based systems discharge the liquid matter from the septic tank into a series of perforated pipes buried in a leach field, chambers, or other special units designed to slowly release the liquid into the soil.

Joseph Engineering can abandon your aging septic tank or install the components of a new septic system to meet your wastewater needs.
